Register Domain Name
Among other things, you must have a Domain name in order to be easily recognized as a qualified Web-Based Marketing Professional.
Your Domain name represents an electronic version of YOU-and if you want to be everywhere at once and be able to handle numerous inquiries at once, along with your Website, your Domain name is the ticket.
Today, with over 80% of home buyers using the Internet to help make buying decisions, you simply must have your own Domain name.
A Domain name stakes your claim on the Internet. Having a Domain name doesn't necessarily make you a big player, but not having one says you're not even in the game.
Use your Domain name everywhere.
It should be part of your email address, email signature and also included in your closing salutations in your traditional correspondence.
With a few keystrokes you can add it to your new marketing materials (flyers, mailers, postcards, etc.) and on your next order of business cards and letterhead. Since it's your Domain name, you can add it to stationery that lasts a long time and not worry about your Web address changing.
BTW - There are 2 types of Domain Names that you need to know about - Human Friendly and Search Engine Friendly.
The Human Friendly version is one that is easy to remember and easy to type. The Search Engine Friendly version is one that gets the attention of elusive search engines. In either case, at a minimum, make sure you are the registered Owner and Administrative contact. This is really important when it comes to worry-free ownership and the ultimate portability (and possible sell-ability) of your Domain Name.
